ABOUT MONICA

I started my career in the private sector and moved to public accounting in 1997. My accounting experience includes both hands-on and operational skills with a significant background in technology. As a certified Pro Advisor for QuickBooks, I specialize in helping small businesses learn, use and customize the best accounting software for their needs. My goal is to provide quality outsourced accounting and small business consulting to all clients.

The following is a representative list of accomplishments in my career:

  • Developed a "CPA for a Day" program to provide weekly, monthly or quarterly outsourced accounting services to small businesses that do not require a full-time CPA on staff.
  • Directed the ACCPAC implementation team for a multi-state health club network. Tasks included completion of a needs assessment, implementation of the ACCPAC solution, and training of all users.
  • Became a Certified Pro Advisor for QuickBooks. Developed and presented an advanced QuickBooks training seminar for businesses currently using QuickBooks. Developed methods for increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of QuickBooks applications.
  • Served as Interim Director of Operations for a Non-Profit Agency
  • Reported directly to the Chief Financial Officer of commercial bank and was responsible for the day-to-day operations. Responsibilities included daily settlements with the Federal Reserve Bank, cash flow and budget management, and preparation of monthly financial reports.

From 2003 to 2005, I served as Adjunct Professor in Business at Lakeland Community College. I combined my solid understanding of accounting theory along with 16 years of hands-on business experience to teach accounting-related courses to business students. I earned a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree with a concentration in accounting from Cleveland State University and am a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
